Bike rental FAQ

How much does it cost to hire a bike in Dharamshala?

It depends on the bike and how many days you need it, so we quote on WhatsApp for your dates. Weekly hire works out cheaper per day. Fuel is not included.

Can I take a hired bike to Spiti, Sach Pass or Ladakh?

Motorcycles, yes, on our motorcycle tours or with our route support, so a back-up vehicle and mechanic are with you. Scooties stay on the roads around Dharamshala, McLeod Ganj and the Kangra valley. In Ladakh, local rules mean bikes hired outside Ladakh can’t be used for sightseeing, so riders switch to a Leh-registered bike there.

Can foreigners hire a motorcycle or scooty?

Yes. Bring your home licence with a motorcycle category, an International Driving Permit that covers motorcycles, and your passport and visa.

Where do I pick up the bike?

At our hotels near Norbulingka in Sidhpur. We can bring it to you in Dharamshala or McLeod Ganj on request.

What if the bike breaks down?

Call or WhatsApp us. Around Dharamshala we send a mechanic or swap the bike. Damage from a fall is the rider’s cost, so check the bike with us at handover.
