From Bairagarh
Sach Pass day crossing
Up to the top and back in an SUV with a local driver, with time at Satrundi.
At about 4,414 m on the Pir Panjal, Sach Pass links Chamba with remote Pangi Valley. Our hotel, Diwan Sachpass in Bairagarh, is the last village stop before the climb.
Sach Pass is in the Pir Panjal range in Chamba district, joining the Chamba and Churah valleys with Pangi Valley and Killar. It’s the shortest road into Pangi, and the toughest.
Near the top the road is narrow and unpaved, with snow walls early in the season and stream crossings. Go in a high-clearance vehicle or on a motorcycle, and start early, when the streams run lower.
