Overview

From Dharamshala to Chamba, then up to our hotel at Bairagarh, the last village before the climb. You cross Sach Pass, at about 4,414 m on the Pir Panjal, to Killar in remote Pangi Valley, and come back the same way.

Near the top the road is narrow and unpaved, so we go in a high-clearance SUV with a local driver and start early, when the streams run lower.

  • Two nights at our own Diwan Sachpass in Bairagarh
  • Satrundi’s snow walls and the pass at about 4,414 m
  • Killar and the quiet villages of Pangi Valley
  • The Chaugan and old temples of Chamba

Two nights at our own Diwan Sachpass in Bairagarh, the last village before the climb, plus a night in Chamba and a night at a guesthouse in Killar.

What if the pass closes?
