# Sach Pass & Pangi Valley Drive

From Dharamshala to Chamba, then up to our hotel at Bairagarh, the last village before the climb. You cross Sach Pass, at about 4,414 m on the Pir Panjal, to Killar in remote Pangi Valley, and come back the same way.

Near the top the road is narrow and unpaved, so we go in a high-clearance SUV with a local driver and start early, when the streams run lower.

## Itinerary outline

1. **Dharamshala to Chamba.** Night: Chamba. Drive to Chamba. Spend the evening on the Chaugan and at the Lakshmi Narayan temple.
2. **Chamba to Bairagarh.** Night: Diwan Sachpass, Bairagarh.
3. **Over Sach Pass to Killar.** Night: guesthouse in Killar, Pangi.
4. **Killar back to Bairagarh.** Night: Diwan Sachpass, Bairagarh.
5. **Bairagarh to Dharamshala.** Trip ends in Dharamshala.

The pass can close at short notice. We keep a spare day in hand and confirm road status the evening before each crossing.

We keep a spare day in hand. If the pass stays shut, we re-route you and sort out your night’s stay. Extra nights caused by road closures are not included in the trip price.
